Put your vehicle on Car Trader with photos, an asking price, and the details buyers need. Once approved, your listing appears on the web and in the app.
Posting happens in the Car Trader app for iPhone and Android. Basic posting is free; paid Boost is optional.
From your photos to a public listing
Add your photos
Open Sell in the app. Add your vehicle photos and, if you want, a short walk-around video. Put the clearest photo first.
Describe the vehicle
Enter the year, make, model, mileage, and specifications. Describe its condition and anything a buyer should know.
Set your asking price
Choose your price and check the listing location. Browse current listings to compare vehicles with similar mileage and condition. Asking prices are not confirmed sale prices.
Submit for review
Review your information and post the listing. After approval, buyers can find it and message you in the app. Reply to questions and mark it sold when the vehicle sells.
Plan the photos before you post
Use daylight and a simple background. These six views give you a starting point; choose the photos that best explain your vehicle.
- Front angle
- Show the whole vehicle with room around the edges. Choose this as your first photo if it gives the clearest view.
- Rear angle
- Include the back of the vehicle and its overall condition.
- Side view
- Show the body panels, doors, and wheels.
- Interior
- Photograph the seats and cabin in daylight.
- Dashboard
- Show the mileage and any warning lights clearly.
- Details that matter
- Use a close-up for visible damage, wear, or a feature you mention in the description.
Write a description buyers can use
Explain the condition, recent maintenance, and known issues. Use this outline and replace each bracket with accurate details.
[Year, make, model] with [mileage] miles. Condition: [interior and exterior condition]. Recent maintenance: [work completed, or leave this out]. Known issues: [repairs needed or damage to disclose]. Included features or extras: [relevant details]. Asking price: [your price].
Keep your description focused on the vehicle. Avoid posting your email, home address, or personal documents in the description or photos.

Yes. Basic vehicle posting on Car Trader is free. Boost is optional paid promotion; you can continue without it.
Can I post from the website?
Create and manage your listing in the Car Trader app for iPhone or Android. Buyers can browse approved listings on the website.
Why does my listing need review?
Listings are reviewed before appearing publicly. Check the app for approval updates or feedback that needs your attention.
How do buyers contact me?
Interested buyers message you through the Car Trader app. Keep questions and replies together in the conversation for your vehicle.
Can I edit my listing afterward?
Yes. Manage your vehicle from My Listings in the app. You can edit the listing, mark it sold, or delete it. Changes may need another review.
